The Michigan Aquatic Plant Group is an non-profit organization comprised of individuals with an interest in the propagation of aquatic plants for planted aquariums and the art of aquatic gardening, also known as “aquascaping”. Experience levels within our group range from the novice to the advanced hobbyist. We have active participating members from all around the Michigan area and surrounding states. We are a group of planted aquarium enthusiasts who are interested in keeping planted aquariums and strive to advance the art of aquatic gardening for the benefit of the fauna, flora, and keeper of such planted aquariums.

Our mission is to educate aquarium enthusiasts and to promote the planted aquarium hobby and the art of aquatic gardening through presentations, speaking engagements, and meetings where topics related to planted aquariums are discussed.

It has always been thought that maintaining a planted aquarium is difficult and intimidating. However, through an exchange of ideas, research, and information on our website and discussion forums, we believe that maintaining a planted aquarium is both relatively easy and rewarding. In addition, we hope that our planted aquarium enthusiasts gains a greater knowledge and appreciation towards the planted aquarium hobby.
